We’ve had to make our changes with our storefront being closed and with our volunteers practicing social distancing.
As always, our available cats are listed on the website. We currently have five cats in store awaiting their forever homes.
We require an approved adoption application before any potential adopter can meet the cats.
This is to limit store visitors to only serious adopters, thereby limiting the number of people our volunteers come into contact with.
Please download our Adoption Application Form here and print it to fill out. Applications must be sent back digitally, either scanned or with clear photos taken of the filled out adoption application form. They can be sent to email address on the form (or sent via Facebook).
Our usual policies apply: the adoption application must be complete, all sections filled in to the best of your ability, including the vet reference check. We are still calling references and doing a thorough review of every application.
The process tends to be faster than when applications are dropped off in store so our board of directors can review everything online right away, provided we’re able to get a hold of your references. You should hear back within a week.
If approved, we’ll make arrangements for you to come in and meet the cats.
All of them are up to date on shots and spay/neutered, so if you’re ready to take your new pet home and it’s a good fit for your household, you can take them then or we can arrange another pickup date. Adoption fees must still be paid before or at the time of taking your new pet home.
There is no obligation to adopt even though you’re approved. If you decide none of the cats are the right fit for you at this time, you can decline to adopt.
Generally all our animals go home with paperwork and copies of their certificates. For now, we’ll be emailing that information.
We do ask that if you fall into any of the following categories, you do not visit the store cats:
- have returned from a trip within fourteen days and are not yet through your mandatory quarantine period
- are not practicing social distancing
- are showing any signs of illness
- someone you live with is showing any signs of illness
It is not fair to put our volunteers at risk. Please do not put them in harm’s way by not following current COVID-19 protocols.
While you’re in our store, we ask that you use hand sanitizer and remain a distance from the volunteer who meets you. We have a sink and soap, so you may wash your hands as needed. We have strict sanitizing protocols already for the safety of our cats and do keep the store clean.
