My sister and I first walked into Cat’s Cradle not knowing what it was, but looking for a tall scratching post she thought “that might be the place to find one!” So we went inside and began our relationship with CCI. As I was walking around the store, my sister called my attention, “You have a shadow.” A small black and white kitten with a little black nose (named Pip) sat and looked expectantly at me, so I gave her a rub. She continued to follow me and even climbed up my pant leg!! I picked her up and she cuddled right into me. She had apparently not shown a whole lot of affection towards people up until that point, but she chose me and I am lucky she did!! She is a little monkey, loves to play and makes friends with everyone who enters my home!! The affection she showed me the first day I saw her has never dissipated.
Late in December I stopped by the store to drop off a donation. A week or so earlier the Facebook group posted a picture of Blue, a beautiful but shy guy who ran into hiding when people came in. Unfortunately, because of this he was overlooked and never given a chance. I asked if they had found anyone for him but no one had shown interest. Their loss!! Blue is a fluffy teddybear who loves cuddles and purring loudly!! It took a few weeks for him to warm up but when he was ready to come out of hiding and say hello, he knew he was in a safe place. Blue regularly comes to me for cuddle time, loudly announces when it is 5:30 (dinner time!) and even approaches visitors to say hi!! Even my friend’s 5 year old boy! He has come so far and I am proud of him 🙂
